Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 1, 2026
1. Overview
Anchor (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a personal growth application that helps you build habits, track your mood, and reflect daily. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is stored and protected.
2. Data We Collect
When you use Anchor, we collect:
- Account information — your email address, used for authentication.
- Daily logs — habit completions, mood ratings, journal reflections, and task records you create.
- Photos — images you optionally attach to your daily logs.
- App settings — your theme preference, custom habits, custom metrics, and notification preferences.
- Device data — your timezone and push notification subscription ID, used to send reminders at the right time.
- Payment data — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To display your history, streaks, and analytics within the app.
- To generate AI-powered reflections (Anchor Plus) using your anonymised log data.
- To send push notification reminders you configure.
- To maintain your subscription status.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your personal journal content for advertising.
4. Third-Party Services
Anchor uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Supabase — database and authentication. Your data is stored on Supabase's servers.
- Stripe — payment processing for Anchor Plus.
- OneSignal — push notification delivery.
- Cloudinary — storage and delivery of photos you upload.
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI reflection generation (Anchor Plus only). Prompts sent do not include identifying information.
5. Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request account deletion by emailing us at anchor.app67@gmail.com. Upon deletion, all your logs, photos, and personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days.
6. Security
All data is stored with row-level security enabled — you can only access your own records. Connections are encrypted via HTTPS. Sensitive columns (subscription status, paid features) are protected at the database level and cannot be modified through client-side API calls.
7. Children's Privacy
Anchor is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us so we can remove their data.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
